PRESIDENT'S WELCOME

Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.

Henry Ford

It is with great honor that I extend warm greetings to you as the 48th National President of the Conference of Minority Public Administrators (COMPA). For more than five decades, we have stood as the premier professional home for minorities dedicated to excellence in public administration and service. Our mission—to serve and assist public administrators, students, and professionals across public service—has never been more vital than in today’s complex governance landscape. As practitioners, scholars, and emerging professionals, each of you represents the backbone of effective, equitable, and responsive governance at all levels. The challenges facing our field continue to evolve, from advancing technological integration to addressing systemic inequities and rebuilding public trust. Yet, within these challenges lie unprecedented opportunities for innovation and meaningful impact. COMPA remains committed to providing you with the resources, network, and professional development necessary to navigate these complexities with confidence and vision.

I am particularly grateful for your continued engagement during these transformative times. Whether you are a seasoned administrator, mid-career professional, or student preparing to enter the field, your participation strengthens our collective voice and enhances our capacity to advance the art, science, and practice of public administration. As we move forward together, I encourage you to fully utilize the resources COMPA offers—from regional networking events to our scholarly publications, from mentorship opportunities to our advocacy efforts. Your active involvement not only enriches your professional journey but also strengthens our entire community. Thank you for your dedication to public service and the principles of good governance. I look forward to our continued collaboration in improving outcomes for the communities we all serve.

In Truth & Service,

Dr. S. Nicole Diggs
President, COMPA 2025-2026
